OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
Our Lord's parting words to his disciples: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age" (Mt. 28:19-20).
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) describes the OCIA as a process in which participants "undergo conversion as they study the Gospel, profess Faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments. The OCIA process follows the ancient practice of the Church and was restored by the Second Vatican Council." Do you know someone interested in becoming a Catholic? Religious Education
Saints Peter and Paul Parish offers Religious Education (RE) programs for school-aged children and families, focusing on preparation for Reconciliation/First Eucharist and Confirmation. The program is designed for Catholic public school children. For details, contact Deacon Dan at 327-6015, X108 or email [email protected].
Sacramental Preparation for SSPP Students: Saints Peter and Paul School students receive their Sacramental Preparation classes at the school. Catholic elementary students do not usually need to take additional RE classes unless they are catching up on Catechetical instruction.

Baptism
Congratulations to all the new parents and a warm welcome to your children!
Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are freed from original sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and are sharers of her Mission. (CCC 1213).
The Parish Community of Saints Peter & Paul prays that our words and actions may lead these newly baptized children to the wonder of God's love for them. We pledge our prayers and support to you, the parents, and the families who have been gifted with these children.
The Infant Baptism Process: For Infants and children up to Kindergarten age.
1. Interview with our Baptism Coordinator. During this conversation, parents are asked to articulate why they are choosing to have their child baptized in the Catholic Church and express that they understand and commit to living out the vow they are making during the baptism rite.
2. Please call our Baptism Coordinator, Deacon Dan, at 520-327-6015 ext. #108 to have Baptisms scheduled and questions answered.
Older Children Baptism Program: For Children from First Grade through Sixth Grade.

Additional Information- Parents must live within the boundaries of Saints Peter & Paul Parish and be registered parishioners.
- Students should be registered in the SSPP Religious Education program or at a Catholic School.
- If you belong to another parish and are requesting to have your child baptized at Saints Peter & Paul for family reasons, we must have a letter of permission from your parish to celebrate the baptism.
- Please be aware of the criteria set by Canon Law for godparents. One godparent must be at least 16 years old, confirmed Catholic, practicing their faith, and in good standing with the Church.
